GMBCFVCWE – Part III

In Part III of the “Great Mumma Boo Catch-up from Vacation Comments Whoring Extravaganza” (GMBCFVCWE), I spent some time with Catnip, Lola, Madwoman Meg, Heather, Denise, Heather and Tiffany.  I downed a few margaritas, and tried not to spill anything except words onto their decor.   I knocked on Vampdaddy’s door, but he was hiding from me.  I think he was afraid of the disheveled, drunken lout that was peeking in his window.

So here’s some more link-y love for you.  (Sorry, I’m out of chocolate.)    Trip on over and say “Hello” to some more awesome bloggers when you get a chance.

Catnip – A woman of many talents, she’s an excellent writer, founder of ChapterBytes , editor and contributor to Blog Nosh magazine, creative baker and yummy soup maker, (there I go rhyming again); her Quick & Hearty Chicken Tortilla Soup is the only way I can get vegetables into my kids. For that reason alone, I hold her in high esteem.  Plus, she likes her margaritas like I like mine.  ;)

Madwoman Meg- As her self-proclaimed moniker states, the woman is crazy.  That’s crazy with a capital C.R.A.Z.E.E.   Anyone who is loony enough to let me guest post about mutant sperm on her blog has to have at least one screw loose.  She’s laugh out loud funny, provacative, daring enough to undertake a cross-continental move with two small children (with a quick stop here in MA to potty-train my son, of course), and has not one, but three blogs where she imparts her wisdom and lets me ramble on in her comments.  Yup – crazy.  Heh.

Lola - As her blog title implies, she is one sassy mama.  She’s not afraid to say what she means, tough as nails with a heart of gold.  But don’t tell her I said that she has a heart of gold.  She doesn’t want anyone to know.  *wink*      She once mentioned that she was going to stop blogging, whereupon I threatened to drive through Central MA yelling her name until she started writing again.  She took pity on me and continues to post about her adventures.  Phew!   If  she ever decides to stop, I will be forced to visit every Mennonite enclave in  MA, until I eventually find the one across the street from her house, where the Mennonite menfolk stare in horror, and the ladies wish they had one iota of her razor-sharp wit and zest for life.

Heather – She has a love affair with bacon and she’s not afraid to admit it.   She’s the real deal - funny, edgy, generous and kind.  She also has the worst neighbors, ever.   She writes with great humor about her misadventures, and manages to make kidney stones hilarious, which if you know anything about kidney stones, is not easy to do.   Yup, she’s that good.

Denise -  She’s a tireless advocate for preeclampsia awareness and mom to two of the cutest kids on the planet.  (Not to mention that she loves Yoda.  Like someone who loves Yoda, you must.)   As part of her advocacy, she’s hosting the local preeclampsia awareness walk in Wausau, WI on June 6th.   Check out her blog and check out her walk website.  You’ll be glad you did.

Heather -  If my daughter wasn’t already betrothed to my godson, (no, they’re not related!), I’d be angling for an arranged marriage with Heather’s son.  If anyone has learned what NOT to do as a MIL, it’s her.  *wink*   I’ve nearly convinced her that Cenzo should be marrying her Beans in 20 or so years, but I think Aunt Becky’s son Alex might have first dibs.  Always funny, sometimes heart-breaking, Heather writes with a poignancy that’s hard to beat.  Quite simply, I think she’s great.

Tiffany - Her blog is so full of energy, it gives me a boost every time I read it.   She writes about anything and everything, (including the 2nd worst set of neighbors ever), is a football and gardening fan, and is probably the only person I’ve met on the Internet that I would let come near me with a pair of scissors.  To cut my hair, of course.  What were you thinking?

Vampdaddy -  A friend IRL, and one of the kindest, most genuine, funniest people in my world, he’s father to a wonderful little boy (VB)  who just happens to be a survivor of a rare and difficult-to-treat form of brain cancer called Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor.  Vampdaddy has made it his mission to help find a cure by walking in the upcoming Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund walk to raise money for the “Cure AT/RT Now” fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where VB received his lifesaving treatments and continues to be followed today to ensure that he stays cancer free.  No child should ever have to face a cancer battle, and no parent should ever have to witness that battle.  Yet Vampdaddy, Vampmommy and Vampboy (VB) did, and shared their experiences with us through Vampdaddy’s blog.  I’m honored to know them.  Spare a moment and a dollar or two, if you can, to help them help others.  Thanks.

**************************

And there it is!   I think I just might be finally caught up.  Unless any of you have posted something in the last 18 hours.  Then I’m not.  Which means I have to fire up the blender again this evening.  You enablers, you.

  1. Now I see my weekend flashing before me, laptop on kitchen table, steaming tea beside me, yard work ignored (unless it rains) and link checked out…thanks!

  2. I am cracking up (and finding hot new blogs to stalk) thanks to the GMBCFVCWE. It’s like you’re doing a public service!
